Being the team's first visit to the Siebold collection at the State Museum of Ethnology in Munich, the survey focused on understanding the collection as a whole. Additionally, however, the team also surveyed and photographed works of lacquerware (surveyed by Hidaka, photographed by Katsuta), paintings (Okubo), maps (Aoyama), books (Kurushima, Matsui, and Miyasaka), and dolls and woodworking (Sawada).
