  Visiting Scholar Program FY2010 -- Additional Applications
The National Museum of Japanese History (NMJH) announces the recruitment of a few visiting scholars for the fiscal year 2010. Foreign specialists studying Japanese history and culture, and interested in joining the collaborative research projects at the NMJH, are invited to submit applications for this program. *Applications are closed.   1. Number of positions
 
  A few people
  2. Contract period
 
  Between one and up to three months during the period July 1, 2010- March 31, 2011
  3. Requirements
 
  Applicants must  be employees of foreign research institutions such as universities (part-timers are excluded), and meet one of the following requirements. When they are appointed, their visit to the NMJH must be approved by their supervisors.
  (1) Hold a doctoral degree
  (2) Have expertise equivalent to those who hold a doctoral degree

  5. How to apply
 
 

The Application closes at Friday, February 26, 2010.
All materials for application must be submitted to the International Exchange Section at the NMJH by research staff of the museum. If applicants have no acquaintance with them, please try to contact them. [Researchers’ profile here: Japanese / English(PDF,50KB)]

  6. Selection
 
  Submitted materials will be examined by several committees at the NMJH. Director-General, on behalf of the museum, invite those who are approved.
  7. Procedures after official invitation
 
  Visiting scholars at the NMJH receive monthly salaries according to the working contracts with Director-General. Regardless of their nationalities, they are required to apply visas in their own country to enter Japan with working permission.
